What Does Islam Believe About The End Times?

By Nathan Jones

The following is what Islam teaches concerning the end times, primarily understood from the Hadith, which has incorporated elements of the Torah, New Testament, and Zoroastrianism. Not all Muslims believe in every, or even some, of these eschatological elements, just as in Christianity there are widely divergent views concerning the last days. But, whether these elements are believed or not, this is basically what the Hadith teaches.

Bear in mind there are elements in Islam that were taken from other religions, so we are going to recognize some things that are familiar from the Bible. Don’t forget, though, Islam is a made-up religion. Satan doesn’t know how the end times are going to turn out except from what he reads in the Bible. So, as we go through Islam’s end time views, please don’t be concerned that any of what you are about to read is going to happen.

Syria and the End Times

By Britt Gillette

With all the events taking place in Syria right now, many people are asking, “What does the Bible have to say about Syria and the end times? Is this the beginning of World War III and Armageddon?” Those are legitimate questions, but let me assure you, this is not the end. How can I be so sure? Because the Bible says Armageddon takes place at the end of the seven year Tribulation (Revelation 16:16), and the Tribulation has yet to begin.

That said, I believe recent events in Syria have great significance when it comes to the study of bible prophecy. This doesn’t mean you’re guaranteed to see the immediate fulfillment of any specific bible prophecy. However, it does mean you should pay close attention. Why? Because, at the very least, these events are setting the table for the fulfillment of multiple bible prophecies.

Mid East Update

by Jack Kelley

Recently several events in the Middle East have taken place that should be putting students of prophecy on high alert.

In Syria, the opposition is fragmenting as newly arrived Taliban fighters from Afghanistan have joined with alQaeda in what looks like an attempt to hijack the Free Syrian Army’s  rebellion against the Assad government. In the short term this means the Syrian opposition is focused more on the infighting among its own factions than on defeating the government forces. The Taliban and alQaeda alliance seems to be gaining the upper hand, which means any hope for a “moderate Muslim” government to replace Assad is quickly evaporating.

Seven Major Prophetic Signs of The Second Coming

by Jack Kelley

12th Annual Update January 2013

There are seven major prophetic signs of the Second Coming, and currently all of them are in some stage of fulfillment.  As in years past, I’ll list the seven with their primary biblical references and offer commentary from current events.

1. Israel Will Be In The Land … Ezekiel 36:8-12, 37:21

Speaking to the Land God said,
“You, O mountains of Israel, will produce branches and fruit for my people Israel, for they will soon come home.  I am concerned for you and will look on you with favor; you will be plowed and sown,  and I will multiply the number of people upon you, even the whole house of Israel. The towns will be inhabited and the ruins rebuilt.  I will increase the number of men and animals upon you, and they will be fruitful and become numerous. I will settle people on you as in the past and will make you prosper more than before. Then you will know that I am the LORD. I will cause people, my people Israel, to walk upon you. They will possess you, and you will be their inheritance; you will never again deprive them of their children.

And to the people,
This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I will take the Israelites out of the nations where they have gone. I will gather them from all around and bring them back into their own land.

Islamic Eschatology What are the end-time prophecies of Islam?

The holiest book of Islam is the Qu’ran, often spelled Koran in English. It supposedly contains statements of the Islamic god, Allah, which were given to his prophet, Mohammad, by the Angel Gabriel.

Mohammad was illiterate, so scribes wrote down what he said over a 23 year period of time, until his death in 632 AD. Much of the content of the Qu’ran was delivered by Mohammad while he was experiencing seizures that even his first wife considered to be demonic in nature. The scribes began compiling the Qu’ran shortly before Mohammad’s death. The Qu’ran is about the length of the New Testament. (Copies of the Qu’ran can be purchased at any general bookstore. An interactive copy can be found on the Internet at www.hti.umich.edu/k/koran.)

Myths and Facts about Israel

by Todd Strandberg

The devil hates the Jewish people with a passion. The Jews are the ones who gave mankind the Bible and the Savior, Jesus Christ. It should come as no surprise that nations who are demonically controlled would share in the devil’s hatred of Israel. On this page, I’ve listed a number of popular myths about Israel, and I’ve also provided facts to counter those lies.

The Rise of a Jerusalem Army

by Gary Stearman

Like the jaws of an enormous vise, a Pan-Arab force is consolidating with the single, driving obsession of erasing Israel from the face of the Earth … forever! Something new is happening in the Middle East that tempts us to say Old Testament prophecy is being fulfilled now, at the present historical moment.

However, in our Bible studies, we dare not go that far. Still, you can compare the late news from the region with Scripture and draw your own conclusions. Among other startling developments from Israel is a Hamas initiative for an army custom tailored for battle in a “holy war” against Jerusalem. Hamas, headquartered in Gaza, is at war with Israel. Its charter calls for the total destruction of both the Jews and any trace of their culture. In the years since Israel abandoned Gaza, this coastal region has become the launching pad for the thousands of rockets, set off by a variety of neighborhood terrorist groups.

Target: Tel Aviv

by Gary Stearman

War talk is more than an idle threat. It is the spillover of language that has taken place behind the scenes after diplomacy has failed.

Historically, the reality of an impending war can be measured by the language used by opponents as the horrific day of actual battle approaches. In 1936, Fascists and Republicans clashed in Spain. Extreme Leftists purged the moderates in Soviet Russia. Even in the United States, rightists vigorously opposed Roosevelt’s growing statist tendencies. In 1937, pastors were jailed by the Nazis in Germany. The Japanese bombed Shanghai. Chiang Kai-shek of China joined with Mao Tsetung to oppose Hirohito’s forces. Then, the Chinese broke and Chinese Communism exploded.

World Population Reaches 7 Billion: Signs of the Days of Noah

by Rob Robinson

Statisticians report that the word has reaches 7 billion souls.  With the massive increase in world population one wonders at the prophetic implications of such a monumental pinnacle. The last time the world population reached 7 billion, it was during the days of Noah. According to Mathematicians, the population of the earth after Adam, grew exponentially due to the life span of man being over 900 years. Using an algebraic calculation, the number of human beings at the time of Noah and the flood, could easily have been 7 billion people.

Jesus said that “As the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be”.

Matthew 24:37 But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.

Through The Veil

By Matt Leasher

One of the most significant questions that the Bible answers and reveals to mankind is what happens after we die, or as I prefer to say, pass on.  Many view death as the complete end of their life and in an earthly physical sense it is, but it isn’t the end of our conscience mind and spirit.  King Solomon writing about what happens when we pass on from this earthly existence said this:

“Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it”. (Ecclesiastes 12:7)

I especially like the warning that he gives in the verse just prior:

“Remember your Creator before the silver cord is loosed” (Ecclesiastes 12:6)
